“From the very first page, Battle of Lion Rock is sharp, gripping, and captivating. A pulse-quickening, soul-searching, epic journey walks a tightrope from the edge of this world into stunningly terrifying realms. Such a thrilling and thought-provoking adventure draws you deeper into the world of Beacon Hill, leaving you gasping for breath until the end.” – JOHN TELLEGEN, executive producer and writer on the DreamWorks Dragons franchise.
A thrilling third installment in the Beacon Hill YA fantasy series which Ryan Steck* praised as “a blistering, high-stakes, fast-paced supernatural thriller that’s impossible to put down.”
Ladened with guilt over the innocent lives lost in the war, Jack Reynolds is more determined than ever to honor his sister’s promise. He must fulfill a quest to unite supernatural artifacts missing for centuries and hunted by the Cherub, followers of Elyon, and the Merikh, an evil group seeking world domination. With Eden’s Star as their guide, Jack and Emma journey from this world into other realms to uncover ancient secrets buried in a legendary battle. What they discover could alter the course of history.
Back at Beacon Hill, tensions are rising among the Cherub. Friendships and alliances are tested as great loss divides the followers of Elyon. While the thief of Dragon Soul seeks greater power, a dark force from centuries ago has awakened in a realm untouchable since the Mercy Covenant. Revenge rooted in the past collides with the present, forcing Jack to fight against his greatest fear as a legendary warrior’s unrelenting power threatens the destruction of everything and everyone he loves.
Battle of Lion Rock is the third novel in the Beacon Hill series, an epic young adult supernatural fantasy that launches you on an action-packed quest for ancient artifacts, secret realms, and true allies. This book is for readers who love fantasy, incredible world building, adventure, found family, loyal friendships, a taste of romance, and the ultimate gift: forgiveness.
The Beacon Hill Series includes:

My reviews:
Book 1 :
4 stars
The author gathers some elements and scenes that remind us of some of our favorites, from boarding school, a group of teens solving a mystery, to an action adventure of a chosen one doing the right thing and saving everyone. It's compelling and hard to put down, fast-paced, and with some dark moments. A lot happens, and it's always moving forward, grief, fighting human trafficking, and dealing with an ancient artifact while trusting no one but his friends to see everyone safe. It's great for thrillers/adventure readers. It reads like a movie people usually binge.
Book 2
4 stars
Compelling characters, and an interesting plot for readers like Station Eleven. My favorite parts are: mostly focused on one scenery and one character, but the arrival of a new character who is the opposite of who Liz is will bring more disruption to her life than the end of the world. An imminent storm is coming and she can't stay as she is anymore, so she embraces it all, chance, a relationship, and the new cruel world outside. I like the many references to famous and wonderful books classics or modern, even some pop culture. It's more of a YA take on a dystopian. The main character is sweet and naive and has some hilarious thoughts and takes.
Book 3
5 stars
Overall this is a great fast fast-paced YA thriller/action adventure trilogy that I would love to play as a video game to visit all the places, interact with all the characters, uncover more answers and mysteries. The author writes great starts, this one plunges us right into action and emotion with powerful revelations. Jack is a hero we want to see accomplish great things as we did with Percy Jackson or Shang-Chi in the Ten Rings.
These books have a lot of action but they are also long. I recommend a combination of book and audiobook.
