Book 2 is THE QUEENS OF CRIME. I loved this one more than the first, and I liked the first a lot, too.
Review 4.5
This novel makes the characters more interesting to follow. The British female authors of mystery novels decide to form a club to support each other and gain respect in a man's world.
To do this, they decide to solve a real murder mystery instead of just conjuring them from fiction. The opportunity appears when a single young woman, a nurse, shows up dead. The conclusions of the male justice discard a lot of the clues and evidence. Again, Agatha is a second character, but this time, the pov is focused on one character, the one investigating the crime and creating the club.
I like this historical fiction series. It points out so many wrongs that were (still are) relatable to women and gives us a fictional side to Agatha and other women of the time who, even with limitations, did not accept being silent or just dependent wives. The author mixes well facts with fiction and I can't wait for another volume.
This one is great as an audiobook, too. Thank you, @macmillan.audio, for the advance copy.
