Frustration Free Coloring Tip

Updated: Aug 24

There are two things I like to do while listening to an audiobook (that is not a house chore): Puzzles and using crayons to color with vibrant colors and frustration-free technique. Of course, you can use a more expensive medium to color, but by using crayons it takes away the pressure to create something perfect, and have more fun. Crayons are very versatile and have beautiful results.

Here is how:

  1. for each color pick 3 crayons: a base, a middle and a darker

  2. Reserve white paper for the light as you can see in the clouds and mountain

  3. Start with the lighter color and cover 98% of the shape, then 70% with a darker color, then 50% with a darker one (you can add darker colors practice first with 3).

I love this series, it has great paper quality and well-simplified drawings and shapes that are easy to color, although it has beautiful complex examples.
